Honey-Butter Chicken
INGREDIENTS:
600 g chicken fillets or wings
cooking oil for frying
For the breading:
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons starch
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
For the sauce:
50 g butter
2-3 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
For sprinkling:
toasted sesame seeds
PREPARATION:
Rinse the meat and dry it. Cut it into pieces. Put in a bowl and add the salt, black pepper and lightly beaten egg (enough for the yolk and whites to combine). Stir and add the flour, starch and baking powder. Stir again.
Heat the cooking oil. It must be 4-5 cm high. Drop the pieces of meat one by one in the heated oil. Fry until they brown from all sides. Remove them from the cooking oil and place them in a bowl with kitchen paper on the bottom, to drain the excess cooking oil.
The Sauce
Peel the garlic and cut it into small pieces. Put them into a deep frying pan together with the butter. Cook over medium heat until the garlic begins to change its color. Add the sugar, honey and soy sauce. Once the sauce begins boiling add the chicken pieces and stir until they are well covered in sauce.
Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds and boiled sticky rice as garnish.
